Designing And Enhancing The Toddler Room
Creative designing your baby’s room is not an easy task. There are many things you must consider including budget, safety and comfort. You will do whatever it takes though for the newest and cutest member of your family. Know the basic steps for decorating your baby’s room and feel the excitement of doing them.
Start with the walls first and try not to pick out a color based on whether your baby’s a boy or a girl. That’s too traditional. If you hate repainting the walls, go for neutral. The new thing to do is to paint them with something that is easy on the eyes of your baby ” something cool and lively.
The flooring is another area where you would also want to choose colors that are not gender-biased. Unlike with walls, changing the flooring is more difficult and would take a lot of time. You would also want to choose between a carpeted floor and wood floor. Only put to mind that carpets can provide cushion in case baby falls while playing and wood floors, though not as safe as carpeted ones, are much easier to clean.
Decorate the nursery with furniture that is necessary for the baby’s use like crib, changing table, a hamper for clothes, etc. These are must-haves and are totally not optional. Avoid buying furniture that can’t be used again and again or in case you decide on having a second or third baby.
Regardless of whether you are going to make your own window treatment or not, choose a color or style that will go along with the walls and floor and the furniture. As much as possible, use blinds for easier light adjustment when baby is sleeping. Also consider ventilation and lighting when deciding on a window treatment. Make sure there is enough light and air that can enter the room.
When everything is ready, set up the light to make the room go alive. Natural light is better too, so consider the window treatment because it is important in adjusting the light inside the room. At night, use nightlights that you can either plug on the wall or set up as a lamp on the dresser. Whatever you choose, always remember safety and precaution.
