Each of the grommet pieces contain semi-circular cross sections with an adapted flat surface to fit on the other half. Curtain grommets usually come in oval shapes.

A number of tines can be seen on each of the curtain grommet halves which perpendicularly extend from the flat surface on to its adjacent inner side. The other half has also its corresponding edges that would act as receptacle upon the fastening of the two sides. Thus, each halves alignment provides relatively easiness in terms of snapping the two sides.

Initially, you need to make relevant marks on the folded top portion of the curtain to allow insertion of the curtain grommet. In spacing out, you may allot a minimum of 3 inches or it may always be dependent on the spreading capacity of the curtain. You may need to adjust the edges at a certain time to provide allowance for stitching. Using a ripper, cut through the portions you have initially marked. Afterwards, you may now insert one part of the grommet on the front side of the curtain. Reverse the curtain so that you could place the other grommet half on to that side. To be able to snap bought sides of the curtain grommet, you may need the aid of a wooden board and a hammer. Gently hit the grommet pieces until it snaps together perfectly. Finally attach the remaining part of the grommet on the front side of the curtain.
